La Universidad y mas...

The rain here has been getting to everyone. It puts a damper on a lot of activities here, but no matter. Today we took a grand tour of Valparaiso with our guide Cristian. Finally have been able to see some sights outside of Vina del Mar. Everyday I have been taking the metro from station Churillos in Vina del Mar to the Station Baron in Valparaiso and its uncanny how similar the setup is nearly the same in San Francisco.
Last night Katie, Allison, and I watched the Thunder game over at the house of Katies host family. It was nice to relax and just catch up with the girls. Today we had conversation practice with several Chilean students. It was very hard to understand them speaking as it is very fast. I met a student named Victor who is into surfing and snowboarding. He is planning to visit Vermont in the coming year so we switched back and forth from english to spanish. Tomorrow we have plans to visit a Vineyard as the central valley in Chile is famous for its wines.

Below are some pictures from the past few days featuring Valparaiso and also shared photos from other friends.

Station Baron in Valparaiso, I call it the Gringos station because PUCV university has numerous American students that are currently attending and exit at this station.

Along the Coast in Vina showing the lights of Valparaiso. Two nights ago Katie and I decided to meet up and get a taste of the night life at Club Tutix in Vina del Mar. We went at 10 at night and stayed until midnight and hardly anyone was there. We walked all the way back to our host families houses as we had not walked the city much yet. More pictures of Vina to come.

Buyer beware... This was so hilarious as Dana wanted a sweater as it is somewhat cold here and this was a deal she couldn't pass up. The sweater was only 1000 pesos about $2USD and none of us had a clue to what was in the package the vendor refused to let her open beforehand...
